Hoje veremos o verbo to be.
O verbo to be é o verbo ser ou estar.Veja a sua conjugação abaixo:
FORMA CONTRAÍDA
I AM : EU SOU/ EU ESTOU I'M
YOU ARE: VOCÊ É/ VOCÊ ESTÁ YOU'RE
HE IS : VOCÊ É/ VOCÊ ESTÁ HE'S
SHE IS: VOCÊ É/ VOCÊ ESTÁ SHE'S
IT IS : ELE É/ ELE ESTÁ IT'S (''ELE'' PARA OBJETOS SERES INANIMADOS OU ANIMAIS.)
WE ARE : NÓS SOMOS/ NÓS ESTAMOS WE'RE
YOU ARE: VOCÊS SÃO/ VOCÊS ESTÃO YOU'RE
THEY ARE: ELES SÃO/ ELES ESTÃO THEY'RE
FORMA AFIRMATIVA:
you are a student. / voce é um estudante.
you are studyng. / voce está estudando.
they are american. / eles são americanos.
she is brazilian./ ela é brasileira.
we are brazilians/ nós brasileiros.
FORMA NEGATIVA:
para a forma negativa usamos pronome+ verbo+ not+ complemento. EX:
they are not ugly / eles nao são feios.
they(pronome) are(verbo) not ugly (complemento).
podemos também usar a forma contraída de are not :aren't.
they aren't ugly.
FORMA INTERROGATIVA:
para a forma interrogativa invertemos o pronome com o verbo.
exemplo:
are you american?
e não you are american.
basta inverter o verbo to be com o pronome.Mas isso só vale para a forma interrogativa.
